This is a sigh of relief for us Pakistanis who'll be hosting an ICC Tournament since 1996 ICC CWC alongside India, and Sri Lanka. Otherwise, this time round, ICC has been emphasizing on granting tournaments to associates like USA, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Ireland and Scotland which is a good thing, but the fact is, Pakistan has got hold of one of the ICC Tournaments, which would create a soft image for the country who didn't host an ICC event since 1996.
Kudos to our cricket board
As Ramiz Raja just arrived but Ehsan Mani Sb, who was associated with our Cricket Board before Ramiz Raja Sb was appointed PCB's chairman, it is the hard work of our cricket board which resulted in attaining host to an ICC even, for which Mr. Wasim Khan was found saying, we are looking forward to host an ICC event really soon, and today was that day.
Not offended with India taking 3 ICC events
As they're used to of hosting such events in their own backyard, but it is a big thing for a country like Pakistan, where 2009 occurred, than for the past 10 years we played our home series' in the UAE, than when teams started to visit Pakistan, NZ and England episode occurred, hence I am not uttering rubbish but being realistic, this is gonna be a big stepping stone for Pakistan and for PCB for enforcing ICC to host its events in Pakistan in front of the cricket maniac nation, in the next leg when ICC announces their FTP.
Already being excited
That event (Champions Trophy emblem) would be embossed on other teams' kits with the word Pakistan, which has been an eternity since we saw such feat. Because this is gonna be the first time, as 1996 was the first time Pakistan along with and along side India and Sri Lanka hosted something on Pakistani soil, but at that time, nothing of that marketing was a norm, and if my memory recalls me correctly, 2003 was the first time since ICC Introduced such thing, because I can't remember 1999 CWC had such feature on participating teams kits.
