2015 and Pakistan.

Just like 2014, in 2015 too Pakistan were good in Tests, awful in Colours, just like we say, Pakistan was not able to keep all of its buckets full simultaneously. Though who have been reading me since time, must know that I have more been critical on Pakistan management than to the team because just like us, the working class, they (the cricketers) are also on the payroll of PCB so I usually end up criticizing the PCB.

2015 in a nutshell:

Test Cricket

Following the legacy from 2014, they were good in tests but awful in colours, same was more or less in 2015. Should I say being a fan that in colours it was a monotone year.

Overall figures Team  Mat  Won Lost  Tied  Draw  W/L  Ave  RPO  Inns  HS  LS
Pakistan  8 5 1 0 2 5 41.07 3.44 15 628 138

Pakistan due to most of their staged in South Asia,
were a dominant force in white kits during 2015
Unlike someone stating, Pakistan were clinical in tests, I don't think so because most of the wins Pakistan had were in South Asian conditions, therefore I don't think it was clinical because during games at Sri Lanka the second test when the pitch behaved more sporty, as expected Pakistan lost its plot.

In a nutshell, I'd criticize ICC for not having enough games compared to other full nations in a Calendar Year, remember Pakistan is a full member in ICC.

ODI Cricket:

It was a disastrous year never-the-less Pakistan qualified for the Champions Trophy or not, because consistent performance for me is the key to grow instead of winning one odd game to keep the percentages in your favour to attain a seat in a premier ICC tournament i.e. The Champions Trophy.

Overall figures Team  Mat  Won Lost  Tied  NR  W/L  Ave  RPO  Inns  HS  LS
Pakistan  27 12 14 0 1 0.857 33.61 5.34 27 375 160
In ODI's, Pakistan wasn't so called clinical as they were in whites.

As stated, Pakistan were not up to the task in ODI's because of inconsistency and selection of players, Mushtaq Ahmed himself was found saying England series' was the last phase of their 'experimentation', so it all went down the flush.Though Bangladesh improved considerably but still we should also keep our own house intact before losing so miserably to a country like Bangladesh which is still in phase in continual improvement, cuz Bangladesh never did a Kaala Jaadu which didn't allow our players to show continuous fight till last ball, so there is no shame in admitting that the greatest wound we got in ODI during 2015 came against Bangladesh, not because they were awesome but the fact is and will be they exploited Pakistan off their own weaknesses.

T20 Cricket:

Overall figures Team  Mat  Won Lost  Tied  NR  W/L  Ave  RPO  Inns  HS  LS
Pakistan  10 6 3 1 0 2 22.25 7.95 10 176 146

Pakistan did well in T20, just like tests because they were consistent in placing the same players and shown their trust on them. The most memorable one was probably the third T20I at Colombo where initially Umar Akmal, solidified by Afridi and later on finished by Anwar Ali and Imad Wasim on the last ball of the inning was probably the best. But one must also remember that apart from the 5 series' Pakistan played, Bangladesh series was won by the hosts, and Pakistan hosted England T20 series was won by England, rest were in favour of Pakistan.

Not wishing good for 2016 because some crook management of PCB are trying their level hard to bring a crook and tainted player to wear a Pakistan jersey. Shame.

Peace!

Muhammad Amir and Pakistan

I am amazed how people in our country are being driven by a man named Najam Sethi who's controlling the media and therefore making the way back for Amir and later on Asif/Butt. I am not optimistic with NS paving way for Amir.

No doubt Amir is from humble background but it doesn't mean because of him we should overlook those who have been sincere and make fun off their sincerity to the game and the green Jersey.

Being Muslims as well, we are not supposed to be acting like buffoons like the whole nation has been. Already this pathetic media coverages pro Amir. What media is actually showing like in one of Gharida Farooqui saying that it is what's on the ground, don't blame us (the media) for showing the reality. I being a critic of media have to agree with it because it really exposed the plagiarism of Pakistani nation which always believes on جگاڑ and hence supporting a tainted bowler to represent Pakistan.

I do not have grieve with Amir but the way NS supporting Amir is something more of a worry. And further more of a worry is that the whole Nation is trying to support a tainted just because of which Amir incident occurred. Had we taken that stance which at least I am firm with my lone stance, things would had been different. But sorry to say this nation doesn't deserve to change because what mistake we did in supporting tainted sportsmen in Pakistan, because of which Amir incident occurred and again this nation is paving way for another of this incident. Pathetic. They so called celebrate عید میلاد النبی But The same Prophet SAW also said that A Muslim cannot be bitten off the same hole twice, and here the same Muhammad Amir incident occurred couple of times.

These half knowledged Muslims mix up crime and sin. I am a plagiarized person, a weak individual but at least I never raped someone, nor I hurt anyone with my acts nor I backstabbed anyone. Whatever sin I did were associated with myself only but also acknowledged it and prayed with Allah for it. Because of that Allah made me away from these. I had to include these because many of idiotic Pakistanis had said as if I am saint.

First of all, crime and sins are two different things. What NS is doing will bring more harm than good. Gibbs was young still why he was forcefully resigned? Because though he was released but still his inclusion in dressing room means fingers raised on the credibility of South African cricket. They rated country over individual. What if England and New Zealand doesn't allow themselves to play against Pakistan team with Amir within? This buffoonatic Pakistani nation will start saying the POMS and Kiwis are afraid of playing against us. They are not afraid, they made fun of us by that and we are giving them that entertainment. I am not gonna say much because I have Quranic verse and a logic to prove that Hafeez and Azhar Ali are right. Islam said to forgive but not to forget. Peace

Pakistan v Zimbabwe - at last

Thank you Zimbabwe cricket for bringing the smiles on
the faces of Pakistani people
At last, Pakistani grounds are going to be used for staging Pakistani home games, after eternity. Thank you Zimbabwe Cricket for the support. The (Zimbabweans) do require our support in those regards, which is quite logical, like having a return trip to their country in return.

Other than Zimbabwe, Ireland also expect to be traveling to Pakistan for a complete tour, which I am expecting they (The PCB authority) might be staging some games in Karachi as well, for which we Karachiites are also deprived of.

Zimbabwe tour to Pakistan

Zimbabwe's tour to Pakistan - 2015, cricket in Pakistan after 2009. Initially being played at Lahore amid security conditions, initially it was swapped thanks to Karachi incident, but still since cricket must go on, Zim did come to Pakistan so that they can also have some competitive cricket in a test playing country. Though Zimbabwe did lose both their T20I, still it is the first drop of the rain.

What is for Pakistan?
Pakistan can use this tour
to attract other teams to tour
troubled country

Pakistan can use this tour to;
  1. Gain confidence of other countries,
  2. Grooming youngsters,
  3. Bring crowd to grounds,
  4. Improve ODI ratings,
These are the factors which Pakistan is heavily relying on, because a home series at home is more beneficial than playing the same abroad. We faced this fiasco because of our so called 'buffoon' Chairman Mr. Ijaz Butt, had he had some logical intelligence, cricket might still been played in Pakistan, shame that a cricket starved team's several players are first time playing an international game in Pakistan. Not blaming others but reality is, we gave them chance to exploit us.

Nevertheless

Hope that Ireland tour must go on, initially I must say, they should play the said series on a smaller scale, so that things do not get out of control.

Peace...

Squad for Pakistan's tour of Bangladesh

Not much to decide from the
currently selected team for the
Bangladesh tour
Pakistan team announced their squad for the full fledged series against Bangladesh, which I guess is a gamble, because you've included such players who aren't being tested properly after their return to international cricket viz ban of illegal action, or injury proned. So I say it's just a gamble taking Bangladesh as a lighter proposition, again because now they are facing Pakistan in their own backyard and plus there is no Inzamam ul Haq who could save us this time, nor the ground is situated in Multan or within Pakistan.

Team Pakistan's practice session cancelled and converted to a 'motivational gathering'

Being an MBA in HR and majored in Training and Development, I certainly know the importance of motivating others, but in Pakistani cricket team's scenario, that's not the case, because first of all team doesn't need motivation but the combination is not set, like I've always been critical, unlike other teams they played musical chair game, because of which no stability there.

Secondly, bad planning because the game where Yasir Shah could had been rested, he was on and the game where he could had played his part, he was rested.

Thirdly, when the team was in dismay, boh Ajmal and Hafeez can't play, so it was better had we incorporated some experience in Zulfiqar Babar alongside Yasir Shah and Lala. Here in this scenario we could had gambled with YS and ZB.

Fourthly, I'd have to agree with Shoaib Akhtar here because Pakistan needs someone who could stuck at one end and the other end it should accelerate. Misbah should incorporate himself in at 3 and Younis at 4, because if they stay longer, runs will start flow, though was a selfish innings but the quiet innings Misbah played against India is a good example that singles doubles and keep the scorecard revolving.

Fifth, why Nasir Jamshed is here? Ive seen some good stroke players that too lefties in Pakistani domestic, why not using them when they were at peak? Is this what merit all about?

My personal opinion but I'd like to shred coaching staff, Flower doing well (I am firm on my stance) if players aren't adapting to his tactics so players are to be blamed not the coach. We require people like Wasim and Mohsin Khan who have cricketing brains just like Allan Donald for South Africa and Prasad for India.

I must say Pakistan is the most under prepared team for this world cup. Giving the excuse I say what were the think tanks doing while they were about to announce the team? Even if the club team announces its team, it keeps the bench strength on standby, did we see the same for Pakistan when the team was announced? If they are taking salaries for 'serving Pakistan' so serve it na, why play with Pakistan, go to KPK and North Punjab, you'd find lanky fast bowlers with ample pace, Karachi is always being known for batsman, IF YOU WANT TO HAVE BATSMEN. Rest nepotism has ruined not only the team but overall the stature of once the great team which played semis of earlier world cups, won 92, finalists in 1999 and semi finalists in 2011 edition, it all went down the gutter because of these nepotistic funded morons and buffoons.

Junaid Khan out of Pakistan Colours in CWC 2015

Initially no Ajmal, Hafeez who can't bowl, now no Junaid Khan. Means we do not have batsman to support bowlers and bowlers don't have the spine to support themselves.
My only question to Moin and Nadeem Khan who used to brag about management, personal relationships and merit, are they going to justify that why B team weren't incorporated while squad for CWC 2015 was announced.
The fault lies with us, others just exploit them, and it is high time that we be rational and start to admit our mistakes instead of saying that ہم صحیح ہیں وہ غلط ہے...

Cricket World Cup 2015 and Pakistani media (unnecessary) hype

Ahmed Shehzad, Shahid Afridi, Wahab Riaz, Younus Khan and
Misbah ul Haq posing with a selfie
Pakistan's prospects in the upcoming Cricket World Cup is touched gloomy because of upcoming injury prone cum inexperienced bowling and with an un-dependent batting and unreliable fielding, I must say if we qualify for the second round, it'd be a bonus cuz I don't expect them to be going that way, with a bleak batting line which can't defend its bowling, is a big setback especially Downunder in Australia and New Zealand, plus with Pakistan squad for the Cricket World Cup already hit with injuries and ban, with their replacements making either a comeback or making a debut in Cricket World Cup, what do you expect off them?
So do we expect them to perform there? The team which played in South Africa in 2003 was the most powerful of Pakistani team consisting of Saeed Anwar, Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram, Abdul Razzaq, Inzamam ul Haq, etc but still they were not able to proceed beyond the round robin, so compared to that Cricket World Cup, can we expect these 'parrots' to perform here, the land where in 1992, they had won the trophy? Hard to admit but statistics say that this is the weak and the bleakest Pakistani squad about to play in CWC.

What about the (team) management?

We have got that management who has not balls (sorry about my words) to experiment with the new blood and recycling the already used ones, if we compare our team with Sri Lanka, they have a team with both experience and live wire both. Here we have made (I am sorry) the teams on viewer's choice instead of their capabilities, thanks to pressurization by our 'beloved media', عوام کی آواز، عوام کی آواز کہہ کہہ کر عوام کو الو کا پٹھا بنایا ہوا ہے۔

The Media

Does it happen anywhere else in the world, that teams have been designed and their planning and strategies being discussed in media? India shows itself vibrant in media but still even their media doesn't do such crap reporting to create news, I wished so many news channels weren't there, induction and dropping of players are being discussed openly in media, are there any norms on which media could be flasked to? Because such media coverage can  be done where your viewership is educated and have they have an idea of what they have been watching off-late, instead of getting inspired from them.

Because I personally didn't like this k عوام دیکھنا چاہتی ہے، my argument is only this that if people want to see such crap (which I know, they don't but still making the guys at media little breathing space), let them while educating them as well, else if you're so sincere with them, do whatever they want show whatever they want, including blocked material (Google what actually people in Pakistan have been browsing throughout 2014). The real job of 'Media' is not to expose team's strategies instead promoting them like Star do with Team India, Sky with England, and counterattack propagation against them, instead of exposing themselves in the cricketing world.

Indian on the other hand have been busy with their media hype, and trying to reduce the pressure on their team performance in Australia by showing shows of other teams' performances of how they won the trophy, the number of times I have seen Pakistan's 1992 CWC triumph on Star Sports couple of times (astonishingly), is something I've never seen on Star off late. This is the way their media is trying to let their team be off light, and the expectation from other teams arises.

Plus the way, Indian media is promoting their kit that their apparel has been made from recycling plastic bottles, can't our media do this way? Can't they do such reporting instead of Tit-For-Tat sort of childish and immature reporting? Teams try that they reduce the pressure of expectation off their team and maintain a 'quiet strategy' instead of vomiting them all over, first in electronic media, than social media and than to the whole world.
Team India's Bleed Blue for
2015 Cricket World Cup

By childish and immature reporting I mean to say;
  • Instead of reporting WITH the statistics, they have been more favoring sentiments, keeping in mind we are very DOWN-TO-EARTH people, who rate some big bashers who just play once in a blue moon, as their greatest heroes, else there was a time, when MEDIA was not there, when we used to RATE players like Inzamam and Miandad who knew how to STAY on the wicket instead of playing on the philosophy of DEAR I AM COMING IN JUST A MOMENT. Everyone likes bang bang, even me but it requires some responsibility as well, it's not fair that we degrade players who KNOW the art of staying on the wicket and later accelerate.
  • Avoid disclosing the team strategies just because of your TRP's issues, your opponents always login to your TV channels for reading the plan and strategies for Pakistan.
  • While watching today's Star Sports 1, astonishingly I am watching how Pakistan went through the Cricket World Cup in 2011 to the Semi Final, plus after that, Irish Kevin O'Brian fastest world cup fastest century inning is shown, instead of Yuvi's innings against the Aussies etc, just because THEY want to ease the already exerted pressure on their team, because they treat their cricket team as THEIRS, do we treat ours as ours? This is just pathetic display from our so called vibrant media.
  • If they want to have something to report on, they could had reported on the jersey because jerseys and gears have been currently one of the better ways of marketing our team, which could be used for betterment of cricket structures in the country, عوام دیکھنا چاہتی ہے while saying this, they have ruined the stature of this nation, instead of grooming them (because they are required to) spoiling them, just like those parents who fulfil every wish of their child to ruin him/her to the most.
  • Aussie 'Golden Yellow' attire for 2015 Cricket World Cup
  • Instead of criticising who was selected and who was not, back the decision of whom is selected, at least give that poor boy some confidence, if he got selected on chance and with confidence on him, he might end up being a hero, just like Miandad who saw Wasim Akram and bought him to the National Side, and now they world knows him.
Needless to say, how Australia and India have been promoting their gears, and here instead we are still under-prepared, when it comes to media strategies and to coup with 'positive propagation' (the way Star have been broadcasting Pakistan's World Cup games), I am not in against of ANY Sporting channel airing Pakistan's games, but still OUR MEDIA PERSONNEL should require some responsibilities.
IF TRP is the concern, try market CA, their kit and their gears, because by that as well, they can earn both, respect and money (if I say openly and without shame), but don't try to expose your own team to the world, for me it's like an indirect media trial of our cricketers and the world is enjoying that once this nation was fruitful in faster bowlers, and batters and now impotent, and media is showing us impotent.
One might say I am saying too much but honestly, it hurts me how media of other countries act and here we have been busy playing childish sort of 'so called' journalism. If that's journalism, than whatever I've studied in Marketing Management and Marketing Strategies what ever I learnt respectively HAVE BEEN a piece of bullshit, according to their standards. There is a sense of responsibility with journalism, which our journalists need to learn before they face the camera and the world.

My verdict

Not expecting much from the parrots, they are good for commercials, but not for the game with bat and ball, they are just happy with the play played between the cricket board and their quarrels, because it makes good and spicy story, if Pakistan goes through to the semis this time round as well, my article is pasted here, and at least I've that guts and balls to admit that I won't be deleting it FOR SURE.

Post script

Sorry about my words here, but that's the way I have seen recent conversations in Pakistani media off-late when Cricket World Cup is just about to start on Valentine's day.
Peace

Pakistani squad for CWC 2015

Pakistani cricket team squad for upcoming Cricket World Cup in Australasia
# Name Age Playing role
Batting
Bowling World Cup appearances
1 Misbah-ul-Haq (captain), 40 years Batsman RHB Middle Order Leg Break 2011
2 Ahmed Shehzad, 23 years Batsman RHB Opener Leg Break 2011
3 Mohammad Hafeez, 34 years Batsman RHB Opener Banned from bowling/Off Spinner 2007, 2011
4 Sarfraz Ahmed, 27 years Wicketkeeper RHB Late Middle Order Not Applicable Debut
5 Younis Khan, 37 years Batsman RHB Middle Order Medium Fast 2003, 2007, 2011
6 Haris Sohail, 25 years All rounder LHB Late Middle Order Slow Left Arm Debut
7 Umar Akmal, 24 years Batsman/Wicketkeeper RHB Middle Order Not Applicable 2011
8 Sohaib Maqsood, 27 years Batsman RHB Late Middle Order Off Spinner Debut
9 Shahid Afridi, 34 years All rounder RHB Late Middle Order Leg Spinner 1999, 2003, 2007, 2011
10 Yasir Shah, 28 years Bowler RHB Tail Leg Spinner Debut
11 Mohammad Irfan, 32 years Bowler RHB Tail Left Arm Fast Debut
12 Junaid Khan, 25 years Bowler RHB Tail Left Arm Fast Debut
13 Ehsan Adil, 21 years Bowler RHB Tail Right Arm Fast Medium Debut
14 Sohail Khan, 30 years Bowler RHB Tail Right Arm Fast Debut
15 Wahab Riaz 29 years Bowler RHB Tail Left Arm Fast 2011
  Average Age 29 years
When I was compiling the statistics, it looks an inexperienced Cricket World Cup side, where 8 of our squad members are on debut in a Cricket World Cup clash. Plus I say, instead of Ehsan Adil we must have taken someone who can swing the ball both ways, because I must say guys like Junaid Khan and Muhammad Irfan IF proved pressure exerters, than Ehsan Adil may be proved as a pressure releaser for the opponent teams. As far as batting is concerned, I was shocked to see no Fawad Alam in the squad, since we required Fawad Alam in the team as a specialist left hand batsman who can bowl as well and can be agile in fielding since 60% 70% of the games are decided on the amount of fielding which saves the amount of runs, because at times those runs saved are the difference in won by the amount of runs. Without Fawad Alam, our late middle order is vulnerable in the hands of Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shahid Afridi and Haris Sohail, vulnerable in the sense that if (god forbids) one or two if fails than we don't have any sort of match finishers. While I was going through other teams, they have incorporated at least two match finishers, specialist math finishers I am talking about. Plus the conditions in AUS/NZ is way too different to be without an experienced campaigner, Sarfaraz and Haris Sohail are hard working guys but still their techniques are yet to be tested outside Asia, for that as a cover we could had taken Fawad Alam as a cover.
