Ongoing rift between ICC and the BCCI?

Rift between the Governing Body and BCCI

It is the high time when the richest cricket board of the world and the governing
body requires to be on the same page to help cricket flourish

The ICC's sponsorship money

The ICC earns its major money off media rights and same is the case for not only India but all over the world Internationally where every cricketing board earns by selling its sponsorship rights on grand/international scales, where Fox Sports is for Australia, Sky Sports NZ for NZ, British Sky is for England and the UK, Supersport is for South Africa and the Afrikaans, Gazi TV for Bangladesh and Star TV for India and not only India but also for the ICC events, whereas Pakistan's cricketing rights are associated with Tensports which is a subpart of Sony Pictures, which also holds rights for games played under SLC and CWI.

Where and Why is the problem between the two?

Where?

The problem is between some of the major aspects;

1- IPL and the ICC events

ICC usually allocates its media rights for time span of 8 years, for which ends 2023 which also includes the finale of ICC World Test Championship, but afterwards it plans to start two cups' tournaments, one is world T20 Cup and second one is world ODI cup which is alternative for ICC champions trophy which according to some bloggers and officials sounded more like a football/soccer event therefore according to them, they would like to brand or should I rephrase, re-brand their tournaments so that it could be differentiated especially in the European countries where countries are also mad for field football/soccer, so this is ICC perspective.

Why

The answer of the 'why' aspect lies because there are many cricketing leagues around the world including IPL, PSL, BPL, CPL, BBL and English's T20 blast, which accumulated days count around 330 days in a year, therefore the riot also errupted when it didn't give IPL it's complete window unlike today where there's no international cricket especially during when IPL is being staged, therefore contradiction starts over here between the two parties.

2- The ICC's plan

As per the ICC's plan, it plans to stage their one event every year including the 50 over CWC which has always being the prime of it events. But prior to this, I also mentioned that accumulated dates of all domestic cricket leagues around the world now counts around 330 days out of 365 days, so it is in the interest of ICC to have large audiences watching their events instead of domestic leagues and hence BCCI doesn't want to compromise on their IPL. Furthermore, currently ICC is on the verge of taking the ownership of 2023 fifty over cricket world cup off India because according to ICC, BCCI is not exempting taxes off ICC as ICC is staging it CWC in India and ownership unlike 2011 event where India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh were the hosts, 2023 is solely hosted by India, therefore the BCCI is unable to convince the government of giving exemptions and hence ICC is on the verge of taking ownership of the event away from India, which being a neutral audience, I personally feel is not a good thing for the whole South Asia.

Quarter half of CWC 2011

By the time I am writing this, Pakistan have won
and made their mark into the semis where they
are expected to meet India or Australia
By the time I'm writing this, Pakistan just managed to storm into the Semis of a 50-over ICC Event since 1999. Many people are praising Pakistan for their effort and no doubt its a great achievement but fielding lapses and not finishing the game early.

Even in the Aussie group game, I felt they gave 20 extra runs in the end, and while reviewing the score-cards, Pakistan lost its 1979 world cup game against the same opposition, they lost the match by one wicket, because they instead of taking care of leaking of runs, they only emphasized on taking wickets to be a hero. I don't wanna mention that particular team or the captain but against their game against the Proteas I second their skipper that when you wear national team's jersey, you play for national team instead of yourself while slogging in the batting power-play span.

Same goes for Pakistan, they had the chance to limited the Windies under triple figure mark, but they leaked some extra runs while everyone wanting to take wicket instead of working n leakage of runs. Against relatively easier team like the West Indies, they managed to win but against the big teams like India/Australia  or South Africa/New Zealand, whoever Pakistan is going to play now in future, will not gave such chance of recovery. Specially when Proteas who're having a great run in this CWC, might able to get rid of their "Chokers" tag.

Lets see what happens in these remaining 3 days of knockout stages. My best wishes with Pakistan but being a sports loving person, I also wish may the best team wins this tournament.

Lime, Spot or Floodlite???

Although he might be right in his assessments but
still it might be a tactic to bring spotlight to an
entangled Pakistani side.
http://www.cricbeat.com/2011/02/pakistan-are-favourites-says-mahela.html

I was going through different cricketing blogs when Mahela Jayawerdena's article on his blog went through, where he said that Pakistan's also a contender for winning the Cricket World Cup.

But being a cynical in nature person, I'd say that it's just a tactic to being Pakistan into spotlight, so that others would read them. Although they're already rated as the dark horses but being dark horses and being in spotlight and contender for the trophy are two different things.

Why I am saying so?
I feel that Pakistani cricket team would be less under pressure when no one's expecting from them. Plus his own Sri Lankan team would like to transfer the pressure from them to Pakistanis, as they're playing at their home and apart from having home advantage there can also be pressure along with, Pakistan on the other hand suppose to play all their pool games in Lanka, would be less in pressure. So I'll take it as a tactic instead of praising dark horses.

Last but not the least
Although Pakistan have a good record against the Lankan Lions, can't say of a World Cup game played in Lanka but overall, but this time Lankan team is looking to change that legacy as on paper they look more stable side than Pakistan, having home advantage too...

Peace...
