Pakistani strategic management

What is strategic management?

Strategic Management is supposed to be Strategic management is the management of how to implement an organization’s (when it comes to achieve a particular outcome) in order to allocate resources to achieve its particular goals and objectives.
Strategic management involves setting objectives, analyzing the competitive environment, analyzing the internal organization, evaluating strategies, and ensuring that management rolls out the strategies across the organization.
Strategic management is divided into several schools of thought. A prescriptive approach to strategic management outlines how strategies should be developed, while a descriptive approach focuses on how strategies should be put into practice. These schools differ on whether strategies are developed through an analytic process, in which all threats and opportunities are accounted for, or are more like general guiding principles to be applied.

This blogpost if going to be boring for the majority but things need to be addressed

Because while I was going through yesterday's game which was a final of World T20 event penultimate game, Pakistan lost the game even before the first ball was bowled of the final, just because I am trying to elaborate SM with respect to a common layman, because I love studying strategies but not exactly a professional, so whatever I am going to elaborate here is from the point of view of a common person, hence it is requested to kindly provide feedback but do not tit-for-tat criticism just for the sake of criticizing.

Why I said, Pakistan lost the game even before the tournament initiated?

Predictable stages

I am not a professional, just an enthusiast and hence when someone as naive as me could understand this thing that you're being predictable off whatever you're tend to do, and similarly opponent team knew what Pakistan team is going to implement, hence when your future steps are as clear as daylight, how can we create a WHAT IF situation in the minds of the opponent?

Forgetting to test newer players

Excessive utilization of our A players in an era where strategic management and video analysis are a common norm, hence why instead of seeking attention for media grabbing, they must have rotated their options when they were playing series against England because against England; we gave 280 overs chance to analyze our cricketers, and we gave them chance, as instead of exposing our cricketers for each and every single game.

Negligence in creation of immediate backups for current A team players

This is another aspect I found it amusing that we are supposed to be running a professional cricket team without an option of B team players, or in professional language, avoiding contingency plans, where B team is my term for backup in lieu of current main team i.e., the A team players,

Advantage for creating backup

One advantage is we are going to avoid monotony where we experienced during this year's T20 World Cup, where Pakistan cricket team didn't take account of the fact that while playing with fear factor of getting defeated, they exposed their main bench, although during the 7 T20I series against England at home, we could definitely test newer players, which could have opened doors for newer options, for which we paid the price while everyone worked on how to cater our batters.

Rotation management

Rotating players professionally is something also sans in current Pakistani confinement. because we are afraid to test our newer batters, one advantage is securing main players, furthermore it would have definitely created a newer breed of cricketers which might have created less stress on the current playing cricketers.

Keeping aces as cognitive

This is another aspect, where especially in case of Pakistan, Shahzaib Hasan and Fakhar Zaman have been two aspects, where for the time being, we got a trump card, for which we could have had utilized because they were not exposed, because yesterday too we could have had worked on the aspect where we could have given rest to Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan, because we are responsible for letting them exposed and while getting exposed, we have been ridiculing them and even discussing options for newer skippers, which is pathetic helm of affairs.

Focusing on the final outcome

We require to align our final outcome with respect to the monthly assignments, i.e., we need to plan how we are going to enter alongside creating ample number of backups to the world cup which is 50 overs Cricket World Cup which is in India, how we are planning to move towards that world cup, for which we require to stage strategic pitstops.

Performance management

Performance management or performance analysis is something sans in current Pakistani setup for which I am also in favor for, because performance analysis-based assessment requirement is the need of the time.

Performance based analysis

There should be ranking based analysis on the performances, because in that regard, there would be competition in cricketers within the pool which is going to be beneficial for the team itself.

Management requires Courageous Decisions

This is the main aspect which requires implementation of proper domestic circuit matches, because I personally find it amusing that our بابے management have been afraid of being defeated in bilateral series, but instead forget the thought that their (visiting teams' video analysts) analyze our aces and in big tournaments like WT20 and CWC, they exploit our strengths as weaknesses, hence the management have to look out of the boxes and have to look more into bigger picture and strategically utilize our players and own them instead of utilizing them like a toilet roll.

While going through to the post-match programs of our sports channels

Pakistan have lost the final against England by 5 wickets, statistics mislead, today I learnt this lesson, because lost by 5 wickets doesn't give an impression what exactly is going on, because the way we exposed ourselves.

Exposed???

Yes! I mean it, because like in my previous post I mentioned, we had predictable strategy on how we are going to move within the match just because our marketing team exposed our strategies, and became predictable at times, but another thing which I noted that our management was afraid of being defeated, if you are afraid of being defeated, you must have had got alternative of current fraternity of players playing so that players do not have comfort level that they are steady, if they have pressure that someone is at their expense; so they must have taken responsibility.

Captaincy discussion on sporting channels

This is ridiculous helm of affairs as we are talking about Pakistan Cricket, what kind of message are we conveying Internationally? We are exposing that we as Pakistanis are impulsive individuals, Babar Azam is not perfect, I agree. but whose responsibility is it to furnish him?

Captaincy is not a problem, where is the responsibility of the management and those who're on the helm of affairs of making and creation of strategies? Have we made sure that whatever mashups we did today, what guarantee that these things won't be repeated? Furthermore, I am not in favor of changing skippers, instead I have been saying not to bring Sarfaraz back but at least support the current captain, because now whole team management is responsible for giving open hands to skipper, not everyone is street-smart, so when you had someone (Sarfaraz) who was street-smart, why was he sacked instead of backing him up? He was also not perfect, but this is the responsibility of management to get rid of these issues, so have we made them accountable for their actions?

Grass-root mindset upgradation required

This is sad helm of affairs, as whatever the facilities and conditions we get on international arena, is not available in domestic games, ESPNcricinfo not even cover premier Pakistan List A tournament (Quaid-e-Azam Trophy) live, this is why because our management doesn't invest in domestic, other countries earn through their domestic games whereas our domestic games have been سفید ہاتھی with no intention of creating it as an earning body.

Congratulations in advance to England

After West Indies, England is going to be the second team which won more than 1 T20 World cup event, as till now only West Indies have been the only team which won 2 events.

Congratulations England

But the issue was planning, England planned all of this from the game they lost against Ireland, but what strategy did Pakistan incorporated when they were down and out? It should always be planning problem otherwise there is no shortage of the manpower, I was always emphasizing on not exposing your main team so regularly, but like I mentioned in one of my previous posts, we as nation have been impulsive, and hence didn't have ethical and moral courage to test their B Side and avoid exposing your A side, that's why I am not complaining why Pakistan didn't play up to the mark just because i. England also came for competition, ii. we exposed our aces at the right time.

the Right Time?

Yes, because stupidly we have ample time to media managers of their teams to study our players, and just imagine from Asia Cup, almost an unchanged team has been played, because we are afraid of defeat but forgot that there is a lot of difference between losing the game and game being lost, and what I am trying to utter, is the second part, where we had lost the game before even bowling in the event,

This is not a short-term cosmetic solution

Instead, we require to incorporate the same into our domestic circuit, as during the current season of World T20 event, we all have seen the importance of data and data management in Australian grounds, similarly, when the broadcaster have such amount of data related to our cricketers. than imagine how much of the data backend management would have, so while comparing them with us, we have been naive in comparison.

50 runs off 40 balls remaining

While I have been writing on two screens simultaneously, one my laptop screen, second preceding big screen behind my laptop screen airing match, and Naseem Shah is about to finish his spell than 2 overs of Afridi, 2 of Rauf and rest of the two overs from Wasim, hence commentators are saying even stevens, but I am continuing with my saying that Pakistan lost the game on tactical grounds.

When you're so eager to show off and expose your aces on wrong moment

Because England enjoying the idiot-ness from Pakistan, already yesterday I was viewing my social media feed, a YouTube video came into my view, where Pakistan was shown not giving ample respect to retiring cricketers, apart from Misbah and Younus Khan, similarly I would like to continue from there, we do not know how to patronage available resource.

28 off 24... game over...

Congratulations to Team England, you really played the game of chess in the game of cricket, but at least we have the finalist.

What is now for Pakistan?

Pakistan needs to work on their bench-strength and media management, because already we have seen the importance of data, and we sold our assets to them, although well played Pakistan but whatever the result we created, we all have to be held responsible for this impulsive behavior.

May the best team wins today

I personally feel people need to be sensible enough, tomorrow if result goes topsy turvy for Pakistan, still this is the team, which gave us hope from nowhere, this is something may might not be important for some, but for me, it is a memory lane, when I'd be sitting with my grandchildren, I'd tell them I was there when Pakistan cricket team was down and out and even I had lost hope and then Pakistan fought back and played the final of 2022 T20 WC, But I was proud of my team because it gave us hope. If Pakistan wins, then I don't know how much I am going to react, but I am calming myself down because the way England convincingly win against India, it is highly possible it'd not be an easy peasy for Pakistan. But keeping good hopes alive and want my team to win. Amen...

Chand Raat of the final

Chand Raat is supposed to be the night before the big day, usually associated with Ramadan and Eid but this time round it is the case with Pakistan's inclusion into WT20 event,

A big but

As within 2 months' time, England have already played Pakistan 7 times, and tomorrow's encounter is going to be the 8th time, furthermore English players also participate in Pakistan's PSL and similarly Pakistani players in Vitality blast, so both teams are no alien to each other.

Hence

Playing it safe, I would rather give onus to England although I want Pakistan to win, as in this political debacle in Pakistan, we require something good and positive from our cricket team, furthermore I must confess again, I am not in favor of making each and every one of the youth as useless to be politician, because the mode our media is in, either they have been doing publicity stunt otherwise too many news reports to distract the reality.

Coming back to the cricket

Let the best team wins, although mind is saying England but from the heart point of view, it is Pakistan, hence I am going to play safe and let the best team win, because it is even difficult for me to have hard heart to go against Pakistan, but it is going to be a tough game, although we had won comprehensively against the Kiwis, but this is a different ball game.

Windies syndrome on Kiwis

This is something off the grid, but the fact is I am good team like New Zealand is also going on the path of Windies players, where they are having trouble in retaining players for central contract, as Coach Gary Stead expects New Zealand's playing resources to be put under further pressure by the expanding franchise T20 scene, as the selectors get set to address the immediate future of Trent Boult now that he does not hold a central contract after stepping away from it in early August.

Kiwi players' not giving patronage to National Duty

Boult has deals in the BBL and ILT20 during December and January when New Zealand will be touring Pakistan. Boult's decision to opt out of a central contract was followed by Colin de Grandhomme announcing his international retirement after taking a BBL contract just weeks later. Then, come September, even Jimmy Neesham declined an NZC contract to instead honour overseas league commitments

At Least We should give due respect to our cricketers

This is a reality as we have an attitude of گھر کی مرغی دال برابر our cricketers and the management have been dedicated, while allowing them for foreign leagues but also trying to avoid خلیفہ گیری but sorry to say, with response to the impulsive nature of our people. we are not seeing matters in the same context because our focus has been out of focus,

Seems like 1992 in 2022

I usually don't like matchups, but the fact is there have been similarities between that era and current one, apart from that this time England might cross the line this time, because being Pakistani cricket supporter, we are totally ignoring the fact that England have also came to take this trophy to London, just like Pakistan wants this trophy to roam on the streets of Karachi, Lahore and elsewhere.

My prediction

Someone might call me devil's advocate, but I personally feel, this is going to be a hard-fought game, which if PAKISTAN wins, will be something I would love to cherish, but right now, the form England is right now, I will have to give my onus to England, but from the core of my heart, I want Pakistan to win.

More bigger things equally important as the Final going to be played on Sunday

In the wake of last month's successful staging of seven T20Is in Karachi and Lahore, there is no suggestion at this stage that the tour is under direct threat. It is understood that the ECB - which attracted criticism for its abrupt cancellation of last year's goodwill visit to the country - is keen to allow the situation to stabilize before any decisions have to be made.

Nevertheless, supporters of Imran's political party, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf (PTI), are expected to resume their "long march" towards the capital later this week, as they continue their demands for a general election, meaning they are likely to pass through Rawalpindi towards the third week of November.

That date is likely to overlap with England's anticipated arrival from their training camp in Dubai on November 26-27, with the first Test at Rawalpindi - England's first in the country since 2005 - set to begin on December 1. England are due to play two subsequent Tests, in Multan from December 9-13 and Karachi from December 17-21.

Dickason, who heads up the security firm ESI Risk, is expected to leave for Pakistan later this week, after he has overseen the arrival of England's ODI players ahead of their three-match series against Australia next week. His previous involvement with the England squad includes the 2016 tour of Bangladesh, which took place in the wake of a terrorist attack in the capital, Dhaka.

"We have the best security officer in the world in Reg Dickason trying to find out information for us," Stokes added. "Whatever Reg says, the players and the ECB will listen because he knows exactly what he is doing."

Impulsive nature of our people

Right now, when I am typing these lines, I have been scrolling on my social media, and while I was going through their tweets and retweets, I found an unusual aspect where on 27th October, people were making fun, (I was also saying that they do not deserve to be in the finals) but never I trolled them, instead I am still adamant on whatever I said I should be held responsible for it, but the topsy turvy ride I encountered while analyzing the tweets, exposed an aspect that being commoners, we do not have that understanding of how things actually happen,

While someone be reading these lines

They are going to surely say اس کو تو بہت کچھ پتا ہے or something similar on the lines, but this narcissists temperament should not be tolerated nor promoted like the way WE ACTUALLY DID to our boys, these are our boys, they require to be tolerated and similarly required to be taunted, but trolling, mental torturing them, is something totally unethical and during a tour, such things shouldn't be promoted, because it is not about some Asad, Amjad, Kaleem but it is about Pakistan, is that the way we want to give language to aliens/foreigners to make fun of not an individual instead of Pakistan?

Why are we like that?

While making our own people be UNDER our influence? Otherwise, WE ourselves are still under influence from گوری چمڑی but question still remains, why ridicule our own people? Have you forgotten the moral ethics our ELDERS used to teach us?

Qudrat ka Nizam!!!

Another hot topic, currently trending on the Twitter media, is Qudrat ka Nizam, man! this should be the height of maximus trolling, means whatever the thing we can justify; has the license to be trolled, where are we heading to? What are our entertainment arenas? Is trolling only entertainment for us? This is a shame...

Pakistan into the finals...

Right now, when I am writing these lines, 4:52 pm in evening at Karachi, and Pakistan have qualified for the final of world T20 2022, now it is up to the team's contesting tomorrow at Adelaide, that it'd be either India or England whom Pakistan would be contesting at Melbourne.

Pakistan has nothing to lose from here

This is a reality for Pakistan cricket team, even if Pakistan loses against the finalist, Pakistan was not even expected to go this far but this is a reality that now Pakistan has surpassed Kiwis and would be waiting for their opponents amid tomorrow's game, but even if we saw Pakistan's برا وقت during the game, we should remember one thing that one team wins and similarly one has to lose and hence we can be on the wrong side of the bed, although being a Pakistani, I'd like boys in green to lift the same fate like Younus Khan & Co. did in 2009.

Just before the Semi-final 1 between New Zealand and Pakistan

Right now, when I am typing these lines, it is 9th November, Allama Iqbal holiday in Pakistan, and we are going to witness a cliffhanger game between the finalists of previous series i.e., New Zealand tri nation series, viz., NZ and Pakistan are locking horns with each other in two hours' time.

One team topped the group, the other barely made it, just like it was three decades ago

There are parallels. They may not mean anything, but they're there, if you're the kind of cricket fan who looks for them. And if you're a Pakistan fan, you're always looking for parallels to 1992, as there have been similarities in between, decades ago during 1992 and scenario now, but as a matter of fact, we should not get relaxed and treat it as a game,

Form guide

As per current form guide and the hiccups attitude of Pakistan Cricket Team, three wins on the trot is something raising eyebrows, if PAKISTAN wins todays' match, I wish I would be proven wrong as I want it to win but realistically speaking, and as per my internal gut feeling, (again, I want my gut feeling wrong), things might go South for Pakistan, furthermor, both teams' are coming off a win hence today's match might be heartbreaking for one team, where I am placing my onus on NZ (again, I want myself to be wrong).

As predicted - Group 1 consists of...

Right now, while I am typing these lines, the final lineup from Group-1 is finalized, which as per statistics and NRR standings, New Zealand is the Group-1 first team whereas England is the Group1 second team, whereas tomorrow is the turn of Group-2 where at once within a single day, two teams tomorrow by this time will be finalized who'd be playing New Zealand and England respectively during semifinals.

Prospects for Pakistan

I personally do not want Pakistan to go on as the current خلیفہ گیری culture in current Pakistan outfit should not be tolerated, because already our society has deteriorated the ethical and moral norms within the society, which is not my concern because on an international medium like BLOGGER, we shouldn't plagiarize Pakistan on international arena, but this thing should not be tolerated being Muslims,

When it comes to Pakistan's situation, Pakistan is more likely to have the same fate as Australia where SL and ENG were playing but Australia lost, similar is the aspect for Pakistan where India and Zimbabwe would be playing for Pakistan to either qualify for semifinals, otherwise back home, but like we say in Urdu اس طرح گر گر کر کھیلنے کے بجائے واپس ہی آجاؤ as country's respect and dignity matters, although if while playing like that, even if we win, we shouldn't be tolerating this خیلفہ گیری within the team, because everybody was cheering for current outfit just because the دیدہ دلیری they had shown till the semifinal against Australia, people even praised them, this is the culture we should promote instead of showing off the world that we are playing while being afraid of the team we're playing with.

Winning and losing are the two side of the game being played

This is the main thing we should remember that whenever two teams play, one has to win and similarly other has to be on the other side of the win, but the intent being shown is something be exuberating instead of cowardly portraying the brand of Pakistan Cricket on International arena.

Personally feel, India and South Africa

If there won't something like a Zimbabwe-Pakistan game, I personally feel India and South Africa are supposed to be the two teams qualifying for the semifinal berth, although being a Pakistani boy, I would still be cheering for Pakistan, but because the way Pakistan have performed, I should not blindly support the boys in green, although I am cheering for team Pakistan but realistically Pakistan has a mild chance, as currently while I am writing these lines, all of the Group-2 teams have played 4/5 games each, hence while India would be playing Zimbabwe, and if according to the expectations, India wins, than India will score 8 points, otherwise if Zimbabwe wins, it'd give Zimbabwe something to cheer about but would also stuck India on 6 points, when it'd require Pakistan to win game against Bangladesh, because already Pakistan's NRR is superior than India's therefore this is the only circumstances Pakistan can qualify, means in order to Pakistan to qualify, it is needed to be acting like Australia who were watching England v SL game, which is something I personally don't like being a Pakistan cricket fan.

What is next for Pakistan?

Tomorrow after completion of Bangladesh clash with Pakistan, it'd be either Pakistan be playing New Zealand in the semis otherwise it's next encounter would be against England in test match cricket, where Pakistan would be hosting England for the test match series starting from the first test match staged at Rawalpindi, second test match to be played at Multan between 9th December to 13th December, and finally third and penultimate test match to be played at Karachi during 17th December to 21st December, similarly just after completion of England series, small test match series between Kiwis be played respectively in Karachi and Multan during the new years' eve, where first test match to be played between 27th December to 31st December 2022 and second test match to be staged between 4th January 2023 to 8th January 2023 following with a Karachi-centric ODI series where 11, 13, and 15 January 2023 games be played between the opponents.
Afterwards, New Zealand is going to make another trip to Pakistan, for T20 games which is also going to be mostly staged in Karachi which will start from 13, 15, 16, 19 April where all of these games are going to be staged in Karachi, whereas last T20 game is to be played on 23rd April in GSL, after completion of T20 series, from 26th April 2023, first 26th April and second ODI 28th April is to be played at GSL, starting from the third ODI at Rawalpindi on Labor Day i.e. 1st May, 4th May and 7th May, but I personally feel it is going to be a hard fight series after watching recently concluded T20I series against England, as I am personally feeling Pakistan won't have that courage to play with their strength and weaknesses like we utter in management studies known as SWOT analysis, sorry to say, the management at PCB, don't have courage to analyze their strengths and weaknesses, otherwise other teams while traveling to our region, analyze their strengths and weakness in order to cater their challenges they are supposed to be facing while touring Pakistan.
