Discrimination against Pakistan and Pakistanis in India during ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

This is something very painful for me, but just like India is Precious for Indians, same as for me, Pakistan is as important to me, and similarly I won't be getting quiet on whatever happens to Pakistan, furthermore another clarification, that I am not saying these lines for common Indians, but that ridiculous arrogance mindset is something which made me write this unlike myself blogpost, because I do not believe on it but this has been the limit.

I would be taking you guys back to that time when Ramiz Raja was suddenly replaced by Mr. Najam Sethi, but afterwards a subtle mindset programming was initiated when all of the sudden, discussions on Asia Cup itinerary started on mainstream media.

And as I recall correctly, his statement recalled into my mind, when PSL was being organized for the very first time in UAE, although I must confess, IPL is still light years ahead of Pakistan's PSL, but still we are required to promote a Pakistani product, although not denying the worth of competition, but still we SHOULD have had been promoting PAKISTANI PRODUCT, but he was ended up openly saying that this league would be the second best after IPL, although no denying off the fact, but such claims should not be abruptly narrated on international medium all at once, 

Similarly, Mr. Najam Sethi started reprogramming our minds for a "hybrid model", which by no means was favoring Pakistan by any means, likewise I fear these traitors are going to make same sort of سودا for ICC Champions Trophy 2025,

This is another aspect, where people from different nations are able to visit India, even Canadian national, whom Indians are having ۳۶ کا آکڑا but only grudge with Pakistani nationals, and Pakistan has been "toothless" in India, because no Pakistani support in India, although India has been able to promote this aspect that Pakistanis are enjoying in Hyderabad, although hard to believe,

Another media tactic, where they tried pressurizing Pakistani team by targeting Zainab Abbas who has been a well-known Pakistani presenter, and who has been a well versed in her content, and instead of Indians (not every Indian, but this peculiar mindset ones) appreciating guys from across the border, they have been targeting Pakistanis international, in order to plagiarize the Pakistani image, but while India is doing such pathetic things, why our management have been numb? Major fail is on heads, because we have not been proactive in countering such impacts which plagiarize Pakistani image internationally and globally.

The "Ahmedabad" fiasco

The match played at Ahmedabad was a clear message, how Pakistan is going to be treated during the span Pakistan is going to play in this CWC, but talking about longer version, if such actions are allowed for Pakistan, every other country is going to take opportunity to degrade Pakistan, just like I remember Ramiz Raja took crucial decision, when New Zealand forfeited their scheduled tour to Pakistan, but unlike Ramiz Raja, I do not have firm belief that current PCB management have those balls to take such strict actions, because "Pakistan" shouldn't be treated as for-granted, but as I am going to repeat this term again-and-again, this "Ahmedabad" fiasco might be tipping stones for taking as excuse for initiation of propaganda, just like Ramiz Raja & Co. did on the right time

These are a reality as before advent of current pandemic, during CWC 2019 which was being played in England, Virtual Logos were used in cricket, means on ground these logos were not shown but for a TV viewer, these were shown as reality, which honestly speaking I didn't note at that time, but actually noted AFTER pandemic, when Pakistan toured England during empty stadiums period, where there was less of the distractions, only than I noted that how Lifebouy logo was being shown upright when camera tilted backwards and every time, ends were changed, logo was being shown as upright, at that time I thought during the overs interval, grounds men come on the ground and change the carpet (I actually thought this), because whenever the ends were changed, the Lifebouy logo on either of the sides were shown upright, which I thought at that time, groundsmen are utilizing their energies to the maximum, but now I know that this is advance version of carpeted advertisement which was advanced version of painted logos on the cricketing grounds.

PCB Broadcasting Woes

The ongoing legal feud between Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Pakistan Television (PTV) has been

settled outside of court, mediated by the Prime Minister Imran Khan's office. Both parties are now expected to withdraw litigation. The revenue sharing model, ESPNcricinfo understands, has also been revised, allowing PCB to take 72% of the share while PTV will take 28% out of the commercial deals, a significant change from the previous 57.5 - 42.5 arrangement.

The PCB had signed a three-year broadcast deal last year in September with PTV to broadcast home cricket, as well as an agreement with I-Media Communications Services, to ensure the PCB's broadcast content is not redistributed illegally by cable operators. The model could have potentially had them earn in excess of USD $200 million, but last month new PCB chairman Ramiz Raja had unilaterally suspended the deal with PTV and terminated the I-Media contract to open a new tender for the media rights for Pakistan's upcoming series against West Indies and Australia.

 

PTV had gone to Lahore Civil Court to obtain a stay order against PCB's abrupt move, and the two parties were struck in a legal wrangle - PCB going to the High Court - with the West Indies series around the corner. The courts adjourned the hearings while the PCB was keen to go into fresh bidding and bring in a new broadcaster; PTV, the state broadcaster, was unhappy with this and had a number of meetings to renegotiate with PCB, citing that they had never violated their agreements or defaulted on their payments.

 

The expected earnings from this deal would come from advertising revenue and also, for the first time in Pakistan, distribution revenue from the cable operators - the equivalent of revenues that broadcasters make from subscriptions - through I-Media was meant to ensure that the distribution of cricket content would only be done through licensed cable operators, and the value of the content would be protected against potential illegal distribution. The production rights however had to be regulated by PCB on their own.

 

The deal with I-Media now stands terminated due to non-compliance on payments. The Pakistan government is yet to implement the Digital Pakistan policy, one part of which regulates the illegal cable operator business, though the plan is to have it done within a year.

 

The broadcast deal until last year was signed in the shadow of the Covid-19 pandemic in a shrinking broadcast market. It ended a long-running broadcast relationship between the PCB and Ten Sports, and there were no potential overseas takers at the time as international rights for PCB's home series were sold separately to various channels around the world.

 

Recently though, Pakistan has had a few local sports broadcasters to choose from. The ARY Group has launched an HD sports channel, A-Sports, which covered the T20 World Cup and is presently broadcasting the Lankan Premier League. PTV broadcasts its content in standard definition, but as per ESPNcricinfo, the state broadcaster is set to upgrade their broadcasting quality to HD within a month.
