This is where India is far superior

India about to lift the T20 World Cup 2026 trophy in Ahmedabad, becoming the first team ever to win it back-to-back as previous edition 2024 in the West Indies was won by India and similarly the only side with three T20 World Cup titles now. As a die-hard Pakistan fan following from Karachi tonight (March 8, 2026), I have to swallow my pride and say it straight: India played superior cricket. Full stop. Despite that heartbreaking 2023 ODI World Cup final loss in the same stadium, they learned, adapted, and came back stronger. Batting first again in a high-pressure final? They smashed a record 255/5—the highest in any T20 WC final—powered by Sanju Samson's explosive 89 off 46, Ishan Kishan's quick 54, Abhishek Sharma's half-century, and cameos from the rest. Then their bowlers strangled New Zealand early, leaving the Kiwis chasing shadows. NZ fought, but it was never close enough. India dominated.

Credit where it's due:

this Indian unit is a machine. They overcame the 2023 debacle by leaning hard on domestic circuit experience, grooming intent-driven players, and making smart pivots (Gill out, Kishan in, Samson back mid-tourney). Their batting depth, bowling variety (Bumrah still unplayable), and fearless approach showed what happens when meritocracy and national interest come first. Experience from grinding in Ranji, IPL, domestic one-dayers—it all paid off. No shortcuts, no favoritism; just pure performance earning spots.
Even if statistics matter this much, even statistics
doesn't support, and now you'd have to go
towards old school
Now flip to Pakistan. Man, this hurts to write, but it's the truth. Our setup feels like it's built by "Papa-ki-Pari"—someone's personal pet project, not a national mission. Merit gets compromised for preferences, connections, and vendettas. Domestic performers grind for years, with screenshot approach, instead of visiting the playing field to observe which runs were scored under which circumstances, statistics can't show this aspect, this could only be observed while visiting the ground, and observing who scored a 200 in which circumstances, and similarly someone's courageous 50 score in difficult and testing situations, this could only be determined with intellectual-honesty and without taking statistics-only team building, smash runs/wickets, but spots go to the usual suspects because of who they know or who pushed them. Country-comes-first? Nah, it's personal agendas first. Result? We exit early again—Super 8 this time—while India wins their third title. Our middle order collapses, strike rotation vanishes (RIP Inzamam-style ticking), intent looks forced, and the same old excuses roll out.

If green shirts had been in that final, it'd have been epic. But honestly? We didn't deserve it. The team that went to the WC didn't reflect Pakistan's true national cricket spirit—it looked like a representation of someone's ego trip or inner-circle bias. Young guns like Farhan shine despite the system, but the core stays stuck because meritocracy is compromised.

As a sportsman (and yeah, I'm, have been, and will always be critical of India as rivals), I congratulate them. First back-to-back champs, three-time winners—history made. Respect. But damn, it stings knowing we have the raw talent in Karachi streets, Lahore academies, everywhere, yet the PCB keeps sabotaging it with personal preferences over national pride, with acting like "Papa-ki-Pari" sort of screenshot therapy, where they start ridiculing these young guns by making them disappoint in international stage, instead of developing them, enough of this megalomaniac attitude, this is Pakistan National Cricket Team, not someone's "Papa-ki-pari" keyboard warrior or Saya Corporation or any other similar sort of entity's, because I have been emphasizing this again-and-again, that whatever Pakistan is suffering is just because of the reality that respect be given to National Side and stop cronyism in Pakistani National Cricket team, I personally feel that Pakistani cricket team requires proper professionalism and National pride intact, Pakistani cricket team requires how much National Interest they are tempering..

Complete domination
off India during whole span
of 240 deliveries
Time for a wake-up call: demolish the cronyism and favoritism within the team, since this is high time to recognize that this is Pakistani cricket team, not someone's Tom-Dick-and-Harry's team, enforce ruthless merit (data, form, fitness—no politics), put country first, analyze, what Pakistan requires, what we have and contrary what we have to develop in time, instead of misusing Golds in Price of Coppers, God Dammit, they are our assets, is
that way you misuse/abuse your owned assets/inventory? Only then can we dream of lifting that trophy ourselves. Until then, hats off to India—they earned it.
