First article after a very long time, in the new years. with the first test of the year for Pakistan ended in Sri Lanka's win. For me, Pakistan was complacent after playing a draw against them and never saw that the way Lankans came back in the second innings, showed that they had some other plans. Lame excuses that Pakistan lost due to low and below par first inning score and secondly due to toss advantage.
Pakistan also won the toss in the first test and Lankans also lost quick wickets in first innings, still they took the fight and returned back rather strongly in the second innings, could PAKISTAN done a LANKA? That's why I say lame to say that lost the toss and low first inning score responsible. If that was the case, than why legends say that you have to play test cricket session-wise.
Pakistan is going to stay at 5th position with 29 matches and with 2891 points with overall rating of 100, while Lanka is going to lose one position to give way to WI to cement a 6 place whereas Lanka at 7th position with 33 games and 2851 points with having an overall rating of 86.
Sri Lanka is gonna stay where they're, i.e. on the sixth position in ICC Test Rankings with 33 games, 3016 points and an overall rating of 91.
Again no loss no gain for Sri Lanka, a result least to content with for the Lankans cuz of less gains in the Reliance ICC Test Rankings, having played 33 games, 2961 points and 90 rating.
Pakistan has to go for a win to earn some respects, else their temporary batting form HAS AGAIN deteriorated, heard the skipper saying that Agha Zahid (the curator at the National Stadium, Karachi) prepared the pitches during the T20 and ODI leg of the series whereas Intikhab Alam was here during the test matches. What is this lame excuse for? WHAT I FEEL, Pakistan under-rated the Lankans in their bowling, even a wounded cat is more lethal than a fresh Lion, cuz wounded person doesn't have the fear of being hurt, that's what happened to Lanka and this is how they responded.
Pakistan is surely getting a tough fight from Lankans, and cuz of recent activities in Pakistan dressing room these days, I am not optimistic with something positive from the green-shirts.
